On Sunday, April 17th, the North Attleboro Travel Softball Association (NATSA) hosted the 2nd annual Major League Pitch, Hit and Run for Girls Softball. MLB PHR is an exciting baseball and softball skills competition that provides girls and boys, ages 7 to 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.
The MLB Pitch, Hit and Run consisted of three individual events. In the pitching competition, players pitched at a strike zone target for accuracy. Players then hit for distance and accuracy. In the run, the players were timed from second base to home plate. Individual scores were added to determine the overall score and all-around winner for each age group.
The All-Around Champion, Pitching, Hitting, and Running Champion of each age bracket will compete in the Sectional competition of the MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run. Sectional Overall winners will be invited to Fenway Park in June to compete for a spot in the National Finals during MLB All-Star Week in Phoenix, AZ.
